- Comprehensive knowledge of cloud platforms and technologies: AWS, Azure and Kubernetes
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Linux OS preferably Red Hat and/or Centos and Ubuntu/Debian
- Experience of IAC tools preferably Terraform
- Practical experience of automation and configuration tools preferably Ansible
- Working knowledge of project management tools, JIRA
- Knowledge of CI/CD and source control systems ideally Jenkins and Git.
- Web servers: Apache HTTP, Apache Tomcat, Nginx
- Good communication and planning skills
- Ability to work well as both part of a team and independently, be self-motivated to deliver projects to deadlines

About the Role
Mkodo is expanding so we are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer possibly from a background in System Administration to join the IT operations department. Our current infrastructure comprises of on-premises and cloud systems and the role will involve building, maintaining and enhancing these environments. In addition, you will be providing support to our internal teams, clients and liaising with our parent company. The role offers an opportunity to progress technically as we continue to grow within part of a larger organization.
Main Responsibilities
- Administration of cloud technologies – AWS, Azure and Kubernetes
- Working directly with clients to help investigate issues raised and delivering fixes within agreed SLAs
- Documenting support and configuration information on our internal knowledge base and documentation published to our clients
- Supporting the development teams in a DevOps capacity, building and maintaining our development, test and staging platforms
- Supporting company production facilities both cloud and physical data centres
- Proactively monitoring systems through our alerting and logging tools
- Managing back-up and data security
- Participation in the on-call rota
